GIMHAE
In all of my time that I have spent in Busan I rarely get a chance to go out to Gimhae. As an ex-pat I am naturally interested in traveling and want to write a detailed excerpt of my time spent away from my abode.
Gimhae is actually part of Busan rather a small suburb that has an airport. Its primary function is actually for Domestic and International flights. This coincidentally is where I was picked up by my brother in law when I made my return to this country. There are two main Airports in Korea that I have been too. Gimhae and Incheon.
On this particular day I wasn't headed for the airport unfortunately. After going to Pusan University with my wife we set out for the FASHION OUTLET MALL for some shopping.
I was surprised that there were many items that I could go for but decided against it simply because of the cost. On this jaunt to Gimhae I saw how dynamic Busan really is.
To begin with, we passed through a variety of subway stops on our way through the city. I would like to go to some of these places just to try them out sometime but feel my time is slowly running out.
Mandeuk has a tunnel that goes through a mountainside and thus takes us into East Busan/West Gimhae. Its actually very close to Pusan University but since I never take a car I can't see this view. Of course we had to pay a toll when crossing into Gimhae which is still considered another city even though its soon to be part of Busan. There will be a new subway route next April! I am looking forward to it.
My brother in law has a pass which is similar to my Mybi card (electronic money) I really love that feeling of paying automatically from a pre paid debit card.
Gimhae is definitely worth another look- Probably this coming June when I finally am able to depart!
